White Shark "Mueller" 48"x24" Gallery Wrapped Limited Edition Giclee Print
This gallery-wrapped limited edition giclee print is a ready-to-hang, museum quality reproduction printed on canvas with archival pigment inks. It is one of only 30 printed in the run and is hand-signed and -numbered by Karen. This white shark is a specific white shark that was tagged off the coast of Cape Cod and named "Mueller." It is the shark that appears in chapter one of the book Chasing Shadows, for which Karen created the maps and illustrations. See below for a brief video about Karen's gallery-wrapped limited edition giclee prints. When working on this piece, Karen consulted with the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, which provided numerous reference images and the expertise of shark biologist Megan Winton. Select giclee prints are available with embellishing and remarquing options. Both of these options offer a greater degree of artist involvement and result in very unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. In the case of embellishing a canvas giclee, Karen hand-embellishes the giclee print with acrylic paints, and in the case of remarquing, she adds a hand-painted detail to the bottom of the painting (watch a short video of Karen adding a remarque to a limited edition giclee here. Both of these options greatly increase the value and uniqueness of the print, and they are the best choice for print collectors wishing to acquire highly-specialized prints with an even greater degree of collectability.
